Eastern redbud (Cercis canadensis)

Small tree or large bush, native to Northern America. Grows up to 9m tall but in Estonia is usually smaller.

At spring the whole tree is covered by violet-pink flowers.

Heart-shaped leaves are up to 12cm in diameter.

Requires fertile soil and warm place protected from northern winds.
