Kobus magnolia (Magnolia kobus)

Small tree (8-15m) from Japan and Korea.

Leaves are dark green, bark on new stems green, on older branches greyish brown.

Blooms in the spring, before growing leaves, with large, fragrant, white flowers.

Kobus Magnolia is completely hardy in Estonia. Needs fresh soil, does not tolerate dry places.

Nice in groups with large bushes or as a solo tree.
