Siberian iris (Iris sibirica)

Siberian iris forms dense clump of narrow, grass-like leaves. In May-June appear tall (up to 1m) flower-stems with large (6-7 cm) deep-blue flowers.

Prefers fertile moist soil and full sun but tolerates semi-shadow.

Native habitat in Europe and Western Asia. In Estonia it is protected species (category 3).
