Bird's-eye primrose was formerly widespread in Estonia. Unfortunately are many of it's habitats nowadays lost - it prefers wet meadows that are now mostly abandoned and overgrown with trees.
It is close relative to cowslip. It develops one or many up to 20cm tall flower-stems, on top of which are clusters of pink-violet flowers. Blooms on May or June in Estonia.
Bird's-eye primrose prefers mois alkaline soil. Grows well in flower-bed where it can develop up to 10 flower-stems. Unfortunately is quite short-lived in cultivation, but propagates readily from seeds.
