Tufted hairgrass (Deschampsia cespitosa)

Tufted hairgrass is common on moist meadows. In good conditions forms intense green clump with delicate, up to 80cm tall flowers in June. Striped leaves are harsh.

Tufted hairgrass prefers fertile, slightly moist soil. It is strong and dominates over all common weeds.
