Bladder campion (Silene vulgaris) seeds

Bladder campion got its name from inflated calyx pink or green that resembles bladder. Petals are white and deeply notched. Blooms in mid to late summer. Bladder campion prefers semi-dry rocky meadow with full sun. Can be grown in flower-beds. Although perennial it is short-lived but will self-seed readily.

Looks great in flower meadows, rock gardens and borders.

Young leaves are edible.
