Perennial honesty (Lunaria rediviva) seeds

Perennial honesty is a herbaceous perennial in the cabbage family. In estonia it grown on moist meadows, prefeering alkaline soil. NB! In Estonia it is category 3 protected species!

Its cousin Lunaria annua is well known garden plant, famous because of its dry translucent, disc-shaped silicle membranes. Perennial honesty has similar semi-translucent silicles but smaller and with more pointed shape.

It flowers from May to July with pinkish-white fragrant flowers. Seeds should be sown to pots or trays and young plants planted to permanent growing place. It is strong plant that can survive the competition with many fast-growing marshland species. Grows best in alkaline, slightly moist soil and in half-shadow.
