Scotch laburnum (Laburnum alpinum)

Gorgeous deciduous tree or higher shrub (up to 6 m) that is native to Southern Europe. 

Yellow, vanilla-scented racemes of flowers bloom in June, seeds ripen in September to October.

Grows well in moderately moist soils, in sunny positions. Young plants are sensitive to cold.

All parts of Scotch laburnum are poisonous, especially seeds.
