Sargent's cherry (Prunus sargentii)

Sargent's cherry is small tree (6-12m tall). It is the most winter-hardy pink cherry. Native to Japan, Korea and Sakhalin island.

In spring, before leaves unfold, the whole tree becomes covered with delicate pink flowers. Young leaves are bronze-colored, turn dark green in summer and orange or red in autumn.

Prefers alkaline, fertile and well-drained soil.
