Dahurian birch (Betula dahurica)

Native to Far-East (China, Korea, Japan, Russia), grows up to 20m tall. The bark of older branches has a mix of brownish, grayish and pinkish hues and exfoliates in paper-like curls.

Hardy, preferes full sun. Does not tolerate drought.

Interesting solo tree, also as a small grove in larger gardens.
