Wild garlic is used for salad and as a substitute of basil.
Prefers fertile, well-drained alkaline soil. Wild garlic grows well under the shade of deciduous trees because the main growing period is early in spring and in summer leaves protect soil from drying.
If looking place for planting wild garlic take note where ground elder is growing under trees. Snowdrop and Scilla sibirica are also good indicator plants.
NB! Wild garlic is protected species in Estonia, our plants have been grown in garden.
